PlayStation
LittleBigPlanet 3
LittleBigPlanet 3 has only just launched, meaning that it is the newest game in the platforming series. Just like in previous games, players can create their own levels. However, the developers have added far more tools and upgraded older ones from the titles predecessors to give PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 users the chance to create more advanced worlds. The main addition in terms of gameplay is the ability to play with up to four players cooperatively on levels, with each character having their own unique skills. The latest installment also adds a number of different power-ups along with the tools for players to create their own unique ones using the Power-up Creator.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix
Another family oriented game that is available exclusively to the PlayStation 3 comes in the form of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. The new title combines two previously released Kingdom Hearts games (Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep) with updated HD graphics, making it a good way to introduce somebody to the role-playing series.
Xbox
Fantasia: Music Evolved
The stand out product for Microsoft’s consoles this holiday season comes in the form of Fantasia: Music Evolved. Developed by Harmonix, the music game is a sequel to Disney’s Fantasia and sees players control the experience with motion controls using the Kinect sensor, with the overall aim of bringing life to the world much like in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice part of the original film. Available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Fantasia: Music Evolved has already won rave reviews for its variety of music and beautiful presentation.
Forza Horizon 2
For those looking to do a bit of more serious racing than offered by the likes of Mario Kart, you can’t go wrong with Forza Horizon 2. With stunning visuals, a vast open world and a huge array of cars to select from, this would be a welcome gift to any racing enthusiast or even those who just want to have some fun drifting around Europe. It’s available for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
