Developer reveals No Man’s Sky will have multiplayer
The developer behind the upcoming No Man’s Sky, Hell Games, has revealed that the game will have a multiplayer mode for players when it launches. Speaking in an interview with Gamepsot, Sean Murray confirmed that No Man’s Sky would feature traditional multiplayer. However, the developer was also keen to stress that they hadn’t worked much on anything other than singleplayer at the moment.
“There is this thing, which I’m not going to talk about now, that is a plan for multiplayer – for people to have a more traditional multiplayer experience within the game,” said Murray. “And that’s something we’ll deal with further down the line that is exciting, but that’s not something that’s core to the game now.”
While Hello Games haven’t gone into any detail over what exactly will be included in the multiplayer experience that players will get their hands on, the fact that gamers will be able to play the game with their friends will certainly be welcome news.
No Man’s Sky was one of the best-received games at this year’s E3. Shown during Sony’s conference it attracted attention thanks to its unique art style and huge open worlds. Hello Games have said that the science-fiction game will have a procedurally generation universe, giving it perhaps the biggest game world ever.
Players will begin No Man’s Sky in a brand new universe that is yet to be explored. Their job will be to go off and travel around various planets as they encounter a huge variety of creatures and environments. Each planet will be unique, with its own eco-system and special characteristics. Gameplay will include the ability to travel in spaceships, mining, exploring deep oceans and fighting on land.
The title will be arrive on the PlayStation 4, with the possibility of it coming to other platforms in the future. No release has yet been given, although more information is expected to emerge in the coming weeks and months.
