Bungie nerf missions in latest Destiny patch
Destiny has today received a brand new patch that fixes a number of problems in the online shooter. More importantly though, the update makes particular missions less challenging by removing difficult enemies, such as majors, from the Heroic tiers. The missions that have been affected include the Shrine of Oryx, Sword of Crota and Exclusion Zone.
As well as nerfing certain story mode levels the latest patch also solves problems with the newly released raid. Bugs including teams being wiped if the relic was dropped and persistent black screens have been removed, although Bungie admitted that other issues have not yet been addressed.
Other issues with the Vault of Glass Raid will be fixed in future updates according to Destiny developer Bungie. We can expect to see more changes to Destiny in the coming weeks as further data and feedback is evaluated.
Despite the release of the patch, there are still numerous problems with Destiny. There are large numbers of reports of achievements and trophies not unlocking even though the requirements have been met while an exploit with a cave in the Earth level that continuously spawning enemies. This allows players to get large amount of loot more efficiently than with carrying out Strike missions or playing in the Crucible. It’s likely that this exploit will be patched in a later update.
A new area in the Tower has also opened to Guardians, giving players the opportunity to talk to a previously hidden playable character. This NPC offers unique weapons and gear in exchange for the player completing specific bounties and gaining reputation. The bounties can be accepted from the usual location in the Tower. This has disappointed some members of the community who were expecting new missions after Bungie announced the unique content last week.
