Just Cause 3 coming in 2015
Just Cause 3, a direct sequel to the hit 2010 action adventure game, is due to release at some point in 2015. The announcements comes just a week after several leaked screenshots appeared on Twitter. However, there was no word on whether the game will feature the rumoured microtransactions that were also leaked with the recent screenshots. While there isn’t too much currently known about the game thanks to the fact that the reveal came in the release of a Game informer cover, a thread over at NeoGAF claims to have information from the magazine.
According to the poster on the forum the game is being worked on by a group of developers who have worked on games such as Burnout, Assassin’s Creed and Infamous in the past and the fact that the game will be much more interactive than previous instalments. Other new pieces of information include:
- A game world that is the same size as the one in Just Cause 2
- While the story plays an important part in the game, the developers have concentrated on the fun elements and have put more emphasis on the sandbox nature of the gameplay the series is famous for
- The game will take place in a fictional city in the Mediterranean that has been taken over by an evil Dictator
- Controls have been much improved so that they feel much more responsive and so that trying to grapple and attach to vehicles is less of a hassle
- All vehicles will be able to be upgraded until the point that they can battle army vehicles
- There will be no multiplayer in the game at all but the developers point out that they will be taking steps to ensure that they fully support mods and the modding community
- The game will be coming to PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4
