Batman: Return to Arkham Gets a New Release Date
Warner Bros. interactive and Rocksteady Studios have reset the release date for Batman: Return to Arkham after some recent delays. The new compilation set features remastered versions of both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City for the current console generation. You can check out a new announcement trailer in the player below. The set will now be released next month.
The video features some side-by-side comparison graphics to show the improvements for the remastered versions of the classic Batman video games. It’s good the release issues have finally been resolved, and the release date has been confirmed yet again.
Unfortunately, the set doesn’t include Batman: Arkham Origins, which for all intents and purposes, it should. Arkham Origins had its problems, but Arkham Origins was an underrated game in many respects. Arguably, it handled its narrative much better than Arkham Knight did, which was quite flawed as well. Specifically, Arkham Knight really spammed and overused the Batmobile as a gameplay mechanic way too much. So much so, that it took away from the overall experience.
Regardless, it’s nice to get some upgraded versions of the Arkham series. Batman: Return to Arkham finally arrives on October 18. It will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The remastered bundle will include all previously released DLC for both games.
