Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection Needs Day-One Update
While day one patches have been around this the launch of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the current generation of consoles seems to have taken the practice to the extreme. Almost every game that is released now sees a patch made available to download and Gearbox’s latest title, Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection, is not different. The remastering of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will require users to download a day one update if they want to remain online while playing the game.
PlayStation 4 players will be asked to download an update that is just over 8GB while Xbox One users face a 16GB. Considering that co-operative play is such an integral part of the franchise’s experience, the majority of players will almost definitely want to download this rather large patch. The large size is put down to it containing not just bug fixes and performance enhancements but also several pieces of content that could not be placed on the disc.
A spokesperson for Gearbox confirmed that the update would include several pieces of content, including the Claptastic Voyage DLC and the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2.
“Although the update is large (as it’s adding an entire and brand new add-on campaign), we strongly recommend that all players download it before playing The Handsome Collection.”
Borderlands: The Handsome Jack Collection is a bundle containing next-generation remasters of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. The title has seen upgraded visuals and performance as well as all of the additional content that has releases for the two individual titles. They also allow users to transfer their saves from the same family of consoles, allowing people to upgrade to the newer versions but keep their old characters.
