Call of Duty Black Ops III Story Trailer Drops Online
Activision and Treyarch have released the official story trailer online for Call of Duty Black Ops III. The new video is available in the player below.
In some ways similar to Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Black Ops III is set in the future. However, while Advanced Warfare focused on geopolitics and themes of private military corporations, this game seems a little more focused on sci-fi and cyberpunk aspects and themes. Humanity is becoming more cybernetic in its quest to create the ultimate soldier. The military has pushed for the enhancement of mankind’s greatest weapon, the human mind. But with this new power comes an unimaginable threat.
The trailer showcases new gameplay and cutscene footage focusing on the story. It appears that soldiers have been upgraded with a direct neural interface to help augment their abilities on the field. It seems there is intrigue with this possibly driving soldiers with that advanced tech insane and causing them to go rogue. It also reveals that Katee Sackhoff and Christopher Meloni both have central roles in the game’s story. It looks like they performed both motion capture and voice-over work for the game, which is a plus.
Call of Duty Black Ops III arrives on November 6. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
