Curse Lands On Steam Greenlight
Curse, a contextual horror game that throws the player into the world of paranormal investigations from developers Stormlord Games, has landed on Steam Greenlight. Explore the infamous Atherton Manor, site of several deaths and disappearances over the last 100 years. Think you have what it takes to reveal the secrets hidden in the shadows of Atherton Manor? Then have a look at the trailer below.
The game puts players in the role of an envoy of Wallis Paranormal Investigations. Wallis Paranormal Investigations was founded in 1984 when it was known as the Wallis Paranormal Investigation Foundation. The WPIF started as a nonprofit group of researchers, scientists and theologists, funded by Angel Investors who had brushes with the paranormal in their careers. Working from a mix of scientific and theological ideologies the group has investigated haunted areas all over the world. It’s next investigation: Atherton Manor.
As an envoy of WPI, you will be compensated well for your time and expertise and equipped with the most cutting edge equipment available in the field of paranormal investigations. The training you received was prepared by experts in all fields of paranormal research. Through their own personal experiences, these experts have collected and compiled a comprehensive library of the most influential texts in the field. Using this as their base, WPI has created a rigid and comprehensive course of best practices and cursory knowledge which all agents of WPI must practice and follow.
Curse is set to have a number of features upon release, including:
- Explore 3 nightmarish floors of unrelenting horror.
- In Curse you can fight back against the ghosts.
- Your company provided flashlight is a cutting edge device that can temporarily destroy aggressive ghosts. Use it wisely though as it only comes with a single battery.
- Discover the secrets of Atherton Manor and its ghoulish inhabitants. Not everything is as it appears.
Describing the main character of Curse, Stormlord Games said:
“At seventeen, Edgar left Ohio to travel the world, taking part in scholarly pursuits in archeology, theology and fine art. In 1909, he fell in love with the stunningly beautiful Eve Montgomery and took her as his wife. A year later the couple returned to Ohio, taking residence in Edgar’s ancestral home. They were a picture perfect family with one exception: Atherton Manor is suspected to have claimed over three dozen victims, including the Athertons and their two children.”
