Daredevil: Season 2 Launch Date and Teaser Trailer
Netflix and Marvel Studios have dropped a new teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the live-action Daredevil series today. Not only that, the launch date has finally been confirmed for the new season, and it’s sooner than you think. You can check out the new teaser trailer in the player below.
So the launch date for Daredevil Season 2 has been confirmed as March 18. That’s a little earlier than expected considering the last season debuted in April 2015. In addition, there were rumors that the show could launch on March 25, the same date as the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Well, this puts the launch date a week ahead of the DC Comics movie release. Having Daredevil, a streaming Netflix show, competing with a big-budget theatrical comic book superhero movie seemed overblown anyway.
The teaser trailer doesn’t really have any new footage. However, it does provide a bit of a recap from the first season. Images from what happened in Daredevil Season 1 and bits of voice-over dialogue are recounted in the style of church tapestries. The images then pull back to reveal the outline of The Punisher’s skull. Within it is the flaming Daredevil symbol. So it definitely seems that Punisher is being set up as the main antagonist for season two. While Elektra is confirmed, does this mean fans cannot expect to see Daredevil’s archenemy, Bullseye, at all? The teaser trailer ends in a quite explosive fashion. After the camera pulls back in the church, the windows then start to shatter, possibly from gunfire. It looks like the Man Without Fear will have quite the battle ahead of him when he is set against the vigilante known as The Punisher.
The new season launches in March. All 13 episodes of the new season will be available to stream on Netflix at launch.
