Destiny: Live-Action Trailer Characters Are Back in New Video
Say what you will about Bungie’s sometimes controversial hit action video game franchise Destiny, but the trailers are pretty impressive. Last year, right before the launch of Destiny, Bungie and Activision released a new live-action trailer that was directed by Hollywood filmmaker Joseph Kosinski (Oblivion, Tron: Legacy). Well now, Bungie and Activision have revealed a new live-action trailer in anticipation of the launch of the next major Destiny expansion, The Taken King, again directed by Kosinski. In fact, all the same Guardian characters from that trailer are back, and you can check out the video in the player below.
The video again features Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog,” which seems to be the anthem for the game. However, the video also features Nolan North as the new voice of Ghost, as he recently replaced actor Peter Dinklage as the character. The same Guardians from the first live-action trailer are back, and they are prepping to take down Oryx, the father of Crota. The Titan and Ghost have taken the initiative to start searching the ship, despite the risk of disturbing the presence that is Oryx. The Titan then enters battle against a group of Hive enemies, and the action kicks into high gear.Of course, Oryx soon appears after the Warlock and Hunter arrive to back up the Titan, and it is time for the true battle to star.
It is hard not to have just a little bit of fun watching this video and getting pumped for the next Destiny DLC. Destiny: The Taken King arrives on Tuesday, September 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A collector’s edition featuring the core game and all the DLC released so far will also be available.
