Final Fantasy VII Remake Officially Announced
There are games that defy expectations. There are games that define a generation, and then there are games that leave such an impact on gamers that they are forever remembered, forever loved, and held in eternal esteem. Classics do not happen every day, and depending on when they’re made, gamers sometimes wish they had been brought to life in a different era, so that we could experience them in even richer detail. Easily, one of the most iconic games of all time that fans have been begging for a remake of is Final Fantasy VII. The game that brought us Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and truly sent the Final Fantasy franchise into a new age has been long overdue for a remake.
The game came out originally on the PS1 in 1997, 18 years ago. However, Square Enix has been hesitant to give the fans what they wanted with a true remake…until now! At the Sony E3 Press Conference, the wait has finally ended. Cloud Strife is returning to his one true game, and it’s getting a full on remake boosted by the power of PlayStation 4. You can check out the official announcement trailer in the player below.
Now to be fair, we don’t know much about how far the remake will go, and the trailer indicates “more to come this winter” in regards to details. It also indicates it may not be a PlayStation exclusive. Regardless, it’s happening, so FFVII fans may rejoice.
