Flash Movie Director Leaves, Aquaman Could Be Next
It’s an odd time for DC Comics Extended Universe. Despite Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice making over $850 million dollars and counting, many are focusing on the critical reviews and words of some fans. Now, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Flash movie Seth Grahame-Smith has left the film over “creative differences”. Then, The Wrap reported that WB parted ways with Smith because: “Warner Bros. is said to be pleased with Grahame-Smith’s script, but ultimately wanted a more experienced filmmaker guiding the production.”
Not long after that, a rumor began stating that Aquaman Director James Wan was possibly going to be the next to leave. This came via media site Birth.Movies.Death, who stated:
“According to multiple, reliable sources James Wan is feeling a tremendous amount of trepidation about Aquaman. It’s important to remember two things – Fast 7 was a very difficult process for him, even without Paul Walker’s tragic death, and James Wan doesn’t really need Aquaman.”
While there has been no update on the latter of these directors, should Wan leave, it could spell bad precedent for WB and its DC Comics films. Fans are split on Zack Snyder and his directing. Wonder Woman went through a couple directors and writers, and with these happening, things don’t look stable over in the DCEU.
