GTA Online Heists Arrive Early 2015
It has been a long wait for many, with huge anticipation and expectation, but Rockstar Games have today revealed the official trailer for GTA Online Heists. Here’s the trailer (taken from the official PlayStation Blog);
Grand Theft Auto V initially launched in 2014 on (at the time) current generation consoles, before the remastered version launched on next generation consoles only a few months ago, with the PC version to follow. GTA Online has been active from a few weeks following the games’ original launch, with one of the key features expected to be co-operative heist missions.
Due to teething problems when GTA Online launched along with a host of other issues, and no doubt the work put into next-gen GTA V, the online heists have been much delayed, despite huge demand from avid fans. Thankfully, Rockstar has finally polished the heists up to scratch and is looking to unleash them on the world.
GTA Online Heists will launch in ‘early 2015’ and will feature around 20 hours of extra gameplay in addition to the mountain of content GTAO already has.
The launch of GTA Online Heists will not only include 4-player co-operative heist missions, broken down into smaller missions, for any GTA Online players over level 12 but will also introduce new weapons, vehicles and items.
In an interview with IGN a number of details were revealed including rewards for players completing the five heists in order, as well as any Xbox One or PS4 players who complete the heists in first person mode.
Lead mission designer Imran Sarwar said of the GTA Online Heists content;
A series of multi-tiered missions featuring diverse prep work, a range of different types of gameplay and a big finale, where team coordination and playing your own distinct role could make the difference between success or failure.
We also wanted each one to have a unique thread that brought you back in touch with some of the characters from the story.
GTA Online Heists also promise to visit some “surprising locations and interacting with some familiar characters from the story“.
Let’s hope nothing pushes this back and we finally get our hands on the GTA Online Heists; it’s certainly been a long and patient wait. Are you still involved with GTA Online and patiently waiting for the heists, or have you already lost interest due to Rockstar’s delays? Let us know in the forums.
