Halo: The Fall of Reach Launch Trailer Showcases Master Chief’s Origin
October not only sees the long-awaited release of Halo 5: Guardians, but also a new CG animated Halo movie. This one is particular is an animated adaptation of Eric Nylund’s Halo: The Fall of Reach novel. You can check out the new launch trailer for the film that was recently released by Microsoft and 343 Industries below.
The animated feature is included with the upcoming Limited Edition release of Halo 5: Guardians. The story features the origin of the Spartan program and the origin of the legendary hero of the franchise, Master Chief. As a child, he’s conscripted into a brutal military training and augmentation program. The Spartans are designed to be the ultimate weapon against chaos and insurgency. However, the alien alliance called The Covenant soon declares war on humanity, and the Spartans may be mankind’s only hope. The book was previously published in 2001, but it’s nice to see a film that will provide a visual narrative for Master Chief’s origin. This is especially since it seems that Steven Spielberg’s Halo TV series is on the back-burner and not going to meet its originally projected 2015 release date, and it seems like it will not see the light of day for the foreseeable future.
Halo 5: The Fall of Reach is due out with the Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition release on October 27. The game will be available exclusively on Xbox One.
