Infinity War Will Be “The End” For Some of the Avengers
When the Marvel Cinematic Universe Truly started, we all knew there was a time limit, and movie limit, to how long some of the actors would portray some of these classic Marvel characters. Phase 1 was the setup, Phase 2 was the fallout from the Avengers assembling, and Phase 3 seeks to bring more and more characters into the fold. During a Q&A session, Kevin Fiege noted how Infinity War is planned to shake up the team big team, and it will be the end for some…or at least the end of them as Avengers.
“I think it definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know as the Avengers,” Latcham said. “Who knows exactly what’s going to happen yet in that film, but I think this version of that team — and I think we start to hint at that at the end of Age of Ultron — the team will be evolving. One of the things that we love from the comics is the roster’s always changing, that new people are coming onto the team and that you can pick up an Avengers book 10 years later and you don’t recognize the people on the cover, but the ideas and the ideals that make the Avengers the Avengers still exist.
“I think that’s part of what this culmination will be. We’re seeing this version of the team doing this thing to save the galaxy, and then we’ll see where that goes. It’s not the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I think it is the end of part of it for sure. We’re still trying to sort out which parts.”
