Is Captain Britain One of Marvel’s Next TV Shows?
Some strange tweets on Twitter have suggested that a new Marvel Studios superhero TV show is in the works, and it could feature Captain Britain. The tweets came from the account of artist and producer (via Gamespot). McAvoy has designed posters for such projects such as Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and X-Men: First Class. Her first tweet, dated March 19, reveals what appears to be some artwork for the torso of Captain Britain’s costume. In addition, she asks, “Who will be playing Brian Braddock in the upcoming TV series Captain Marvel?”
McAvoy later added on March 22, “I can’t reveal anything yet but hopefully I’ll be able to soon. Waiting for the go ahead from the co-producer.” And when she was asked if this was for a separate solo Captain Britain series or a guest spot on an existing series, she said, “It is his own.”
Marvel Entertainment has not confirmed or hinted at any details as of yet to suggest a Captain Britain series is in the works. It’s possible something could be in development. However, it’s hard to believe McAvoy had approval to release these images. Then again, who knows if this is even legit?
Captain Britain AKA Brian Braddock is a British superhero who first appeared in 1976. The character was created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe. Even renowned writers such as Alan Moore have worked on the character. Braddock was imbued with powers by the magician Merlyn and his daughter Roma to become Captain Britain to uphold the laws of the land.
