Mads Mikkelsen Claims He’s Not Playing A Villain In Rogue One
Recently, the main cast of the upcoming Star Wars Anthology film Rogue One was revealed, but not everything was revealed in regards to every character in the film. One person who has been confirmed to be in the film, but has not had his character revealed yet is Mads Mikkelsen, of Casino Royale and Hannibal fame. This has caused a lot of speculation as to who he could be if not apart of the team that is going to steal the Death Star plans. The immediate suspicion is that he will be playing a villain, possibly the antagonist who will try and stop the team from getting the plans. Some have even gone on to speculate that he could play Imperial Admiral Montferrat of Star Wars Lore. Mikkelsen has spoken out though and has denied these rumors in an interview (that was translated).
“It is a very important role, as much I can say,” Mikkelsen said adding, “No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months.”
Those sets reveals are very interesting as well. As they show the movie will not be in space. Star Wars: Rogue One comes out December 18, 2016.
