New Deadpool Image Drops Online
Deadpool is very much a highly anticipated movie, but not for the reasons you might expect. Unlike other superhero movies, Deadpool is going to be rated “R”. This is great for fans who know the character because an “R” rating perfectly suits Deadpool, who in the comics is vulgar and brutal and at times can get quite gory. Like I said, it’s a highly anticipated movie. A new image dropped of Ryan Reynolds in the Deadpool outfit (above) via Entertainment Weekly, and according to producer Simon Kinsberg, the film will earn that rating:
“It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”
Then, director Tim Miller added that the film is also very gritty and mess, kind of like Fight Club, saying, “I felt Fight Club and Tyler Durden were good corollaries,” he says. He added, “We are in strip clubs and dive bars and crappy apartments and far away from the shiny X-Men world.”
I wouldn’t call parts of the X-Men world “shiny”, especially after Days of Future Past, but whatever. It’s clear that everyone involved with the Deadpool movie is in it to make this a clear call to the source material. Ryan Reynolds is totally amped for this, and if it works out? I see many rated “R” sequels in the future.
Deadpool arrives February 2016.
