New First Look at X-Men: Days of Future Past The Rogue Cut
20th Century Fox has released a new short video look offering a look at the upcoming alternate, extended cut of latest live-action installment of the X-Men movie franchise, X-Men: Days of Future Past The Rogue Cut. The new video is available in the player below.
This is a new highly anticipated version of the film that will feature new footage of an excised subplot involving fan favorite X-Men character, Rogue, played by Academy Award winning actress Anna Paquin. Paquin previously portrayed the character in the first three live-action X-Men films. Fans at times were disappointed that Rogue was never really given the opportunity to fight and take part in the action in the later films. That may not be the case here, but at least the film seems to continue the thread from the first film when Bobby Drake aka Iceman started a young, star-crossed romance with Rogue.
In the video, Bryan Singer explains that this is not just an extended cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past, but an alternate version of the film. One wonders if that could entail any other alternate ideas incorporated to the film other than Rogue’s subplot. Some things that would be nice are scenes that fill in the gaps between The Wolverine and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Specifically, how was Prof. X resurrected?
X-Men: Days of Future Past The Rogue Cut is due out on Blu-ray and DVD on July 14.
