Nintendo Unveils “Game Roadmap” For Upcoming Year
Nintendo released plenty of information at their E3 Digital Event today, showing off some new games, familiar faces, and a surprise or two.
“Millions of video game players worldwide look to Nintendo to deliver surprises and smiles,” said Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime. “That’s what we have on display at E3 – familiar characters and franchises transformed in unexpected ways that can only be found on Nintendo systems.”
Easily, one of the biggest fan wishes was to know when certain games would be playable on their 3DS and Wii U. The three big ones that fans can expect are Super Mario Maker, which will arrive September 11th, Yoshi’s Wooly World, which will come October 16th, and yes, Xenoblade Chronicles X, which will arrive on December 4th.
There were some small surprises as well, such as the reveal of a Metroid spinoff titled “Metroid Prime Federation Fighters”, and the reveal of a new Mario & Luigi game that will include the classic Paper Mario characters as well! That’s the one that has me excited.
Though Zelda Wii U wasn’t shown off, a new 3DS Zelda title was, in Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes, you’ll be able to co-op with two other links to fight evil, conquer dungeons, show your fashion sense (I kid you not), and save the day!
Throw in some Fire Emblem, Star Fox, Mario Tennis, and some Animal Crossing games, and Nintendo does seem to have a lot of bases covered.
