Pixels: Video Game Icons Invade Planet Earth in Two New Trailers
Later this summer, the world’s most beloved and favorite video game icons invade the planet in order to pixelate and take over the Earth in Pixels. The film has been getting a lot of buzz and attention with its trailers online, with a film that looks to be a mix of Ghostbusters and Wreck-It Ralph. Sony Pictures this week released two new trailers for the film: the second domestic trailer; and a new international trailer. You can check out both videos in the players below.
The new film is directed by Chris Columbus and stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Ashley Benson and Brian Cox. The story follows several video game champions who are recruited to help save the Earth from an alien invasion. The invasion is triggered by aliens who discover video feeds of classic arcade games, who misinterpret them as a declaration of war and use video games as the models for their assaults. Kevin James plays US President Cooper, who calls on his old high school arcade friends, Sam Brenner (Sandler), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Gad) and Eddie Plant (Dinklage) to help save the world. Michelle Monaghan is an army Lt. Col. who supplies the group with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
Pixels hits theaters on July 24.
