Rise of The Tomb Raider Will be Three Times Bigger Than Last Game
Brian Horton, director of the upcoming sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider, shared some information with the website Gamingbolt in an exclusive interview. The first thing he revealed was that one of their goals was that the game have no loading screens.
“Just like the last Tomb Raider we’ve created a seamless experience. As soon as you start a new game if you never died or don’t quit you will have a seamless streaming experience throughout the whole game. We want to immerse the player into the world as soon as possible and flow from mission to mission in a very seamless way.”
Horton went on to say that the finished game should be three times as big as the self-titled Tomb Raider was, and that they were looking at some new ways to present puzzles. He calls it a “Nested Puzzle Approach,” where multiple puzzles can work together to solve one giant puzzle. Lara will also have some new survival moves in Rise of the Tomb Raider.
“We also introduced new traversal mechanics, like Lara can climb trees and can swim underwater and can use that not only for traversal but as a way to subtly approach an enemy and take them out from above or from below.”
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be out this fall for Xbox One, and will be out the fall after that in 2016 for PlayStation 4. The PC version will come out between those two releases.
