Robert Downey Jr. Open To an “Iron Man 4”
In the run-up to the San Diego Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly reports some interesting news about Robert Downey Jr. and the possibility of an “Iron Man 4“.
Apparently, Robert Downey Jr. is more open to the idea of making a 4th “Iron Man” film than the general consensus expected:
“It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree,” Downey Jr. said in a statement. “When things are going great, there’s a lot of agreement.”
Downey Jr. also added “It’s that thing of: Why give up the belt when it feels like you can barely get jabbed?” Of course, he goes on to add that “Most people are saying that right when they get knocked out.”
Interestingly, after he said that, Marvel announced another release in 2018 that previously wasn’t listed. Hmm . . .
Marvel Studios will likely be announcing many of their unannounced movie titles this Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con. Perhaps “Iron Man 4” will be among them. Or maybe not. We’ll soon see, as Marvel begins to transition from their “Phase 2” plan to “Phase 3”.
As Robert Downey Jr. himself says, “The future is, as usual, uncertain.”
