Rumored Red Dead Redemption 2 Map Is Genuine
A leaked map from the game is allegedly genuine according to various sources. The image, which first saw its way onto NeoGAF before being removed by the original poster, appeared to show a number of new areas and locations. However, many forum users were skeptical of whether it was genuine. TechRadar though have spoken to a well-placed insider at Rockstar Games who has verified that the map is genuine and is from a recent build of the title.
As many had assumed from clues contained within the camp, the source also revealed to the website that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be a prequel, taking place before the events of its predecessor. This can be seen from the less developed locations and the lack of a railroad. Meanwhile, the title will apparently share some areas with the first game, though most of it takes place further east.
Rumors of a Red Dead Redemption sequel have been ongoing for some years, though Take-Two and Rockstar Games have not confirmed whether any game was in development. Since their last major release was in 2013 with Grand Theft Auto V, it would make sense for the developers to be working on another title and a sequel to what was a hugely popular game would make sense.
