Squid Sisters Getting Real-World Replicas July 8
Just when you thought there wasn’t much to get excited about regarding amiibo anymore, check THIS out: the Squid Sisters from Splatoon are coming out in July!
For those who have yet to play Splatoon, it’s hard to describe how the appeal of Callie and Marie would be so great that fans would gladly plunk down $25 for the package they both come in. You just need to play the game. It’s depressing the way a sizable chunk of the public has dismissed the Wii U. I mean, I get WHY they’d dismiss it now, given Nintendo just admitted its run is pretty much over, but if they never play some of these games, it’ll be a real tragedy.
The Squid Sisters amiibo do unlock something in the game, but it’s rather trivial — they sing some songs and that’s it. The point is just to have them. When they’re released on July 8, it will be alongside reissues of Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl and the squid amiibo, with alternate colors (the squid shall be orange this time, in support of the Trump candidacy).
