Suicide Squad: The Gang Is Here With a New Trailer
The Suicide Squad is here, and what they are about to do does not look very nice. During the broadcast of last night’s DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League, a new official trailer debuted from DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures for the upcoming mega antihero movie. You can check out the full Suicide Squad trailer below.
Well, the trailer is edited very well and extremely well put together with Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” as its soundtrack. Somehow that song seems to just go with the footage very well. The film basically looks like a dark comic book version of The Dirty Dozen or The Expendables. The trailer does a good job to focus on a lot of the characters, who are going to be formally introduced to the DC Film Universe here. Obviously, it’s hard to see how bringing a group like this doesn’t blow up in Amanda Waller’s face.
For one, it’s good to see that as dark and grim as the film looks, it doesn’t appear to be shying away from the supernatural elements and mystical elements. I am curious to see how the film will handle all of that and having so many different metahumans and supernatural characters in the same movie. It’s not clear what the main threat or who the main villain is. There’s an implication of some strange supernatural or extraterrestrial threat happening in a city. The Joker is hanging around. However, it’s not clear if The Joker is the main villain or gets involved for a different reason.
In many ways, Suicide Squad looks more interesting and exciting than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. At least, Suicide Squad is a fresher concept for this type of comic book movie. It’s a movie where the bad guys are basically the “heroes” and are turned into the protagonists. Suicide Squad arrives in theaters on August 5.
