Tom Hiddleon Explains Loki Cut From Age of Ultron

Tom Hiddleston recently shed some light on his role of Loki, and how he originally filmed a cameo for the 2015 Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. In a question and answer session with Variety, Hiddleston explained why the cameo didn’t make it into the final theatrical cut of the movie. According to Hiddleston, it was a result of test audiences misinterpreting Loki’s appearance in the story. Test audiences seemed to believe that Loki was actually controlling Ultron and undermining the new villain. Hiddleston stated,“As they were testing the film, the initial audiences were like ‘oh Loki is controlling Ultron!’, and Kevin Feige and all the guys at Marvel were like ‘um, no, he’s not’. So they just thought it was confusing.” The good news is that Hiddleston will be back as Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, which is due out in 2017. Ok, stop me when this sounds familiar. The Avengers: Age of Ultron has won the box office…BUT…Yeah, I know, you think this is the same story as last week, and in a way it is, but there’s a new wrinkle to the tale that makes this just as compelling as last week. Allow me to explain. The box office results (given to us by Rentrak) show that once again Age of Ultron is on top with $77.2 million dollars revenue for the weekend. So what’s the problem you ask? Well, this is a near 60% percent drop from it’s opening weekend (which was re-calculated at $191.3 million from an initial $187.7 million). That’s a pretty big drop; especially considering that the original Avengers broke box office records in its second week by getting $100.3 million, which was only a 50% drop. Is it too early to talk about the home release of Avengers: Age of Ultron? Maybe. It depends on the topic of said home release. In this case, the question is about what will be on the home release and how it’ll differ from the version we’re about to get in theaters; to be more specific, the movie’s length and its ending. To be fair, movies get a bunch of scenes cut out for timing, story’s sake, etc. This usually ends up being around 10-20 minutes of unseen footage. According to a listing from Amazon UK (via Following The Nerd) though (of which you can see a customer email message below), the home release could have not only extended footage but also an alternate ending. The Avengers, they assembling! Following the debut of the Iron Man in Hulkbuster Armor vs. The Hulk from last night’s MTV Movie Awards, Marvel Entertainment has released two more brand new clips for Avengers: Age of Ultron. You can check out the latest clips for upcoming, highly anticipated sequel below. In the first clip, Black Widow speaks to the Hulk who is getting a little too angry in battle. She is able to calm him down and help his transformation back into Bruce Banner. It definitely looks like the story is going to further explore the relationship between Hulk and Black Widow. I am not expecting a full-blown romance, but I imagine there could be some romantic hints in this subplot between the two characters. We are now mere weeks from the release of Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron, and the anticipation is getting dang near impossible to bear. Marvel Studios has released a new extended TV spot for the highly anticipated comic book superhero sequel extravaganza, Avengers: Age of Ultron. You can check out the latest, full action-packed video in the player below. The new footage features a lot of eye-popping money shots that will be sure to get the blood of moviegoers and Marvel faithful alike pumping. Get it while it’s hot because the new, action-paged trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is out now. The latest trailer is available in the player below. The trailer features a lot more action shots, including some fun visuals of the Avengers in action together. There is one particularly impressive clip at about 1:08 of the trailer that has a slow motion action shot of all six Avengers (Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye) in a wintry forest, springing into action together against some enemy soldiers. Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for the upcoming, highly anticipated sequel for The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The new trailer is available in the video player below. The trailer certainly looks ominous and intense. With Ultron as the villain, the trailers so far come off as dark and chilling. The new trailer continued with the Pinocchio motif with a chilling, creepy version of “I’ve Got No Strings.” For the sake of this trailer, rather than a creepier version of the song with lyrics, it is only a chilling melody in the background. Marvel Studios has revealed a batch of new concept art for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, revealing the cinematic versions of everyone’s favorite uncomfortably close brother and sister duo, Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch. Plus they threw in a picture of the Hulk and Black Widow. The new characters are clearly modernized, without much in the way of the visual style of their comic book counterparts.
