New Halo Film Project Now Filming
This week Ridley Scott’s unnamed Halo feature film began filming in the Titanic Quarter of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Directed by sci-fi veteran Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who worked on series like Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, and Falling Skies, the new Halo film project will be released this year exclusively on Xbox platforms. A local YouTube user dubbed “Jayster” managed to catch a 13 second clip of the filming showing an unknown gun-wielding man walking through a crowd shot. However, overall details on the project, including an actual title, have been scarce beyond the knowledge that the project is completely separate from Steven Spielberg’s planned Halo television series and that the new film project will be a part of a wave of exclusive Xbox video programming coming to Xbox platforms from Xbox Entertainment Studios. Amusingly enough this information comes after Microsoft tried squashing rumors of a Ridley Scott Halo film project just month’s earlier. Something the company has decidedly backed off from now that they’ve confirmed the filming to local news site the Belfast Telegraph. According to the Belfast Telegraph’s article, filming took place recently
