True Detective Renewed For Fifth Season
About a decade ago people were telling me I had to start watching this new True Detective show on HBO. “It’s the best show ever!” they told me. My slow self didn’t even start to consider it until Season 2 was already a thing, at which point people were NOW telling me “don’t bother, it’s garbage now.” I thought I’d just never hear about True Detective anymore, but now that it’s made it all the way to Season 4, people are telling me to watch it again? Make up your minds!
Westworld Season 3 Soundtrack To Be Released On Vinyl
Here’s something we didn’t expect to see today. Remember Westworld? That show that had an amazing first season, a weak second season, a somewhat better seasons 3 and 4, and then HBO pretended like they never heard of it? You can’t find Westworld on Max today. The episodes have been banished to a FAST service where you’ll be interrupted at random intervals for commercial pitches.
Got Yourself A Gun: The Sopranos Turns 25
I’m old enough to remember a time when HBO wasn’t known for “prestige television.” The appeal of an HBO Original was that they could drop F-bombs and show boobs and that was it. That perception started changing with the arrival of one particular crime drama in early 1999. The Sopranos was not only a great show but elevated the class of the network it was on, inspiring them to take a chance on better-written programs and get rid of stuff like “Arli$$.”
The Last Of Us Delays Production Of Season Two
Since the first season of HBO’s The Last Of Us was the sensation of the spring, it stands to reason they would get to work on a second season right away….under normal circumstances. But the writers’ strike has put a lot of shows on pause, and as of today, you can add this one to them.
Last Of Us Finale Shatters Records, Truth About Giraffe Revealed
It’s official: HBO’s TV adaption of The Last Of Us is a huge success. It brought in 8.2 million viewers last Sunday, an improvement over the previous weekend, and this was against the Oscars. For the record, here are the viewership numbers from week to week, which kept climbing up:
You May Never See The Nevers, But You Can Try
HBO’s The Nevers has to be one of the unluckiest TV shows in recent memory, and definitive proof it’s impossible to predict how a Hollywood project will turn out. It premiered with great fanfare in early 2021. At this point series creator Joss Whedon was just starting to lose his sterling reputation, but he had bailed on the series mid-production anyway, so it didn’t seem like that connection would harm the show too much.
The Last of Us Has Been Moved Up To Friday, Just This Once
HBO’s The Last of Us is a phenomenal show, but you likely already knew that. if you’re not watching it yourself, you know numerous people who constantly tell you how good it is. And if you don’t have that, you at least have me to pester you. WATCH THE LAST OF US, DUDE.
The Last Of Us Renewed For Second Season
Given how most Hollywood adaptions of video games turn out, you might not have expected the moon from HBO’s The Last Of Us — but let me tell you something, it has delivered the moon plus Mars and Jupiter and maybe a few asteroids. Granted, only two episodes have been made public, but just judging by those two, it’s not only the best video game adaption we’ve ever seen, it’s one of the best shows of the decade period. Episode 3 is rumored to be even better.
Westworld Has Been Shut Down
Westworld, the future attraction wherein rich people go to play pretend cowboy, is shuttering its doors for good. Declining business may have been a factor, but the robot uprising probably also had something to do with it.
