The Most Expensive Pikachu In The World
Given that this is the second extremely expensive Nintendo product to appear within two weeks, you have to wonder if they’re trying to pursue the 1% market now. First there was that Mario watch that looked like any other watch yet cost $20,000….and now there’s a handcrafted German Pikachu plush that will set you back $367. The Pikachu comes from German toy maker Steiff. This company has existed for a long time and, in fact, created the world’s first teddy bear. All of its plush toys are limited in number and created entirely by hand, which includes Pikachu here. Preorders began last week and anybody with the disposable cash will see their Pikachu arrive next February. (They can’t rush ’em for Christmas, sorry.) This isn’t even the most expensive licensed item Steiff has offered. Last year they sold a stuffed Godzilla that went for $500. [Source: Kotaku]
