The new video game, The Order 1886, may currently be undergoing a lot of scrutiny due to controversy over the game’s campaign length and lack of replay value, but the game has been released nonetheless. Ready At Dawn and Sony PlayStation have now released a new launch trailer to go along with the game, which is available below. The game has received fairly middling reviews thus far. The Order 1886’s Metacritic score currently stands at 55. While the game might not be as short as less than six hours as originally thought, with only a single-player campaign mode with about an average length, it leads one to wonder why they should invest the price of a new game for a title that offers such little content. Video game developer Ready At Dawn Studios is now in an uneviable position right ahead of the release of the company’s highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusive game, The Order 1886. The game is set to launch later this week, but now the game is facing controversy that its campaign is less than six hours in length of actual game time. According to a report by Gamespot, a player leaked a run through the entire game on YouTube which came out to about five and a half hours. Almost half of that time was due to the game’s cutscenes, which are said to be completely unskippable. Ready At Dawn has tried to battle back the controversy of the game’s length. The company is essentially taking the position that the leaked video was a speed run, even though it apparently included unskippable cutscenes. Chief Technical Officer of the company, Andrea Pessino, wrote on his Twitter account that rumors of the game being shorter than five hours were not true. He later wrote,

Ready At Dawn and Sony PlayStation have released the latest behind-the-scenes featurette, the fifth in a video series, for The Order 1886. The latest video, showcasing how the new PlayStation 4-exclusive game was brought to life, is available below. The video goes into a lot of detail on how developers painstakingly created the visual look of the game. The developers even went so far as scanning textiles and material that existed in the 1800s and scanning it, so the visual look of the cloth could be digitized and animated into the actual game. The game certainly appears to be pulling off a unique, immersive and photo-realistic look. Between the alternate version of Victorian London, The Order 1886 looks like it will have ambiance and atmosphere to spare. The full list of PlayStation Network trophies for the upcoming video game, The Order 1886, has been released online at PSN Trophy Leaders. The full list of trophies players can unlock for the game is available there. Only one trophy on the list, Knight No More, has its description marked as hidden, likely to avoid a spoiler for the game’s story. Most the trophies revolve around pulling off various enemy kills using the game’s vast arsenal of weapons. The Order: 1886 release date has been announced to be early 2015 instead of the original 2014 launch, as stated by the developer Ready at Dawn in a recent PlayStation blog post here: http://tinyurl.com/qj39lhj The post mainly focuses on the design and artwork put into the Victorian Era London style as well as reasons as to why the release date is being pushed into 2015.
