Transformers One Is A Different Kind Of Adventure
At this point the Transformers are just as well-known around the multiplex as they are around the toy aisle. There have been endless Autobot and Decepticon films of varying quality since the original came out in 1986. There has been nothing, though, quite like the animated picture Transformers One, which Paramount and Hasbro unveiled today with its first trailer. How do you feel about this: a wacky buddy comedy starring Optimus Prime and Megatron, in the days before they were enemies? That’s where this goes, and though there are adventure and action elements hinted at in the trailer, this is a comedy through and through. Every scene is punctuated by a “whoa, did THAT happen?” remark, which isn’t exactly sophisticated humor, but better than what Bay came up with.
