Nickelodeon made some big reveals for the current animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series at Friday’s TMNT panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con. Stars Seth Green (Leonardo), Sean Astin (Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo), Kevin Michael Richardson (Shredder), Eric Bauza (Tiger Claw) and Fred Tatasciore (Rocksteady) were all in attendance along with executive producers Ciro Nieli and Brandon Auman. The panel included some behind-the-scenes reveals and announcements for the upcoming fifth season for the hit show, which will feature 20 episodes.
The reveals included some major guest stars and the use of some classic TMNT lore characters for the show later on. Here is the breakdown for the season five guest stars:
- Doctor Who star David Tennant voices The Fugitoid, a former alien scientist named Dr. Honeycutt. After his body was destroyed, his brain was saved and placed into a robot body.
- Character actor Peter Stormare guest stars as Lord Dregg, an insectoid crime lord. The Ninja Turtles eventually incur his wrath, making him a dangerous enemy.
- Star Trek star Michael Dorn voices Captain Mozar of the classic, original comic book series characters the Triceratons. Mozar is a cunning and brutal military leader who answers only to the Triceraton Emperor.
- Other guest stars for this season include: Lance Henriksen as Zog, a scout for the alien Triceraton army; Ron Perlman as Armaggon, a bounty-hunter robo-shark with a taste for turtle; and Zelda Williams as Mona Lisa, the Salamandrian warrior.
Season five of the show debuts with “Dinosaurs Seen in Sewers!” It premieres on Sunday, September 20 on Nickelodeon. You can check out some artwork (courtesy of Nickelodeon) for the new characters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season Five below.
