Transformers: New Details on 30th Anniversary of Film
This week, Shout Factory officially revealed new details for the upcoming 30th anniversary re-issue for Transformers: The Movie. The classic 1986 animated movie is going to get a new two-disc blu-ray and DVD release in conjunction with the 30th anniversary film in September. The animated movie has been remastered using a brand-new 4K transfer of original 35mm film elements. Shout Factory is promising a restored and remastered version that will immerse fans like never before.
The animated film features an all-star voice-over cast, featuring Orson Welles, Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Casey Kasem, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack and Frank Welker. The new editions include a Limited Edition 30th Anniversary Steelback, which will feature the two-disc blu-ray set and a Digital Copy of the movie. This one will have the Steelbook packaging with key-art, the all-new HD transfer of the movie in widescreen and full frame on two Blu-rays. There’s also new bonus content for the set, including brand-new featurettes.
The regular two-disc Blu-ray includes the new HD transfer in widescreen and full frame and new bonus material and a digital copy of the movie.
