Twin Peaks Revival is Back Along With David Lynch!
Twin Peaks is the very definition of a cult classic. It was a very different kind of show when it aired, and many gravitated around it, sadly, it was cancelled before all the mysteries could be solved. And then, it got a movie!…that was a prequel, and not a continuation.
But hope was reborn as a Twin Peaks revival was said to be in the works at Showtime, with original creator/showrunner David Lynch attached, along with original star Kyle MacLachlan. Fans were excited! And then…issues between Showtime and David Lynch came up, and the revival was down.
But now, via some tweets from the creators themselves, the show is back on again!
David Lynch stated, “Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ….. It is !!!
Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network”
While Showtime proclaimed,“This damn fine cup of coffee from @mfrost11 and @David_Lynch tastes more delicious than ever.” -#Showtime president David Nevins #TwinPeaks”
This is great news all around, but it’s about to get better! As the series will apparently be longer than the original nine episode order that was initially attached to the series!
This was quoted by Showtime President David Nevins: “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Pre production starts now!!”
Well, it seems all systems are go for the Twin Peaks revival! Which will be set to air on Showtime in 2016.
