Will Chris Pine Be Green Lantern After All?
The upcoming San Diego Comic Con could arguably be the biggest one for WB in a long time. Not only are they bringing Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Gotham to the show, but also, they’re going to be talking about their upcoming movie slate. Which obviously includes Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Justice League, and more.
Though many of the Justice League members have been cast, there has been one holdout: Green Lantern. Not surprising per se as many are still reeling from his first attempt at moviedom. But, he is getting a new film in 2020 (at the moment), and will no doubt be in Justice League. So…who’s going to play him?
Rumors have long held that it will be Star Trek star Chris Pine, but those same rumors fizzle out just as quickly as they start. With SDCC only days away, they’re back up with fire. Birth Movies Death actually reports that though Pine hasn’t signed anything, he is up for Hal Jordan…along with another key DC Comics role…
“This weekend I talked to someone close to Chris Pine who confirmed that the actor is in fact up for Hal Jordan. And that he had been offered Steve Trevor,” Birth Movies Death reports.
Steve Trevor is of course a huge part of the Wonder Woman mythology, and Pine could easily be him instead of Jordan. However, regardless of role, the source they cite states that WB/DC wants him at the panel on Saturday when they talk about the films. Will he be there? We’ll report it the moment we know!
