Agents Of Shield Actor Wants More MCU Connections
Agents of Shield as a TV show is a bit of an odd duck. It started being about the team that worked “in and between” the stories of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Then it was about how the world truly reacted to certain events in the films, and then it became its own thing entirely. Now, Season 04 is very much a standalone thing with minimal connections to the MCU outside of references, but that doesn’t mean the shows cast doesn’t want connections.
For Henry Simmons, who plays Mack on the show, he thinks it should be connected, because that’s how it’s billed, he tells ComicBookResources:
“Honestly, I know there’s a lot of red tape, but my feeling is that I would love to see that, because everyone benefits, Jeph Loeb always says, ‘it all connects together,’ and they do. I think if you see them all together somehow intertwined, it would just make each story deeper, and more dimensional.”
He goes on to note that it wouldn’t just be MCU characters that could be connected, the “other” Marvel shows could connect as well:
“It just makes there a little more urgency and the stakes are just a little more higher when something’s happening over here and you involve that person in Harlem or New York somewhere, you understand that the threat is that much bigger,” Simmons said. “You can only benefit from doing that, the crossover.”
We’ll just have to see if something like that ever happens.
