Amazon Becomes Latest Retailer to Sell Out of PS4 & Xbox One
Amazon US has become that latest retailer to run out of next-gen stock after it announced it would no longer be taking pre-orders for day one editions of both the PS4 and Xbox One.
“After a crazy and exciting month, we’ve sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One” Said Amazon in a post on Facebook. “We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can’t guarantee these at release. Please check back here as we’ll update you first if we receive further release day allocations.”
It appears that Amazon is trying to get some more day one stock of both consoles but it is currently unclear if this will be possible. Customers can still pre-order both consoles but as mentioned in the Facebook post, Amazon cannot guarantee they will arrive on or close to launch day.
Amazon is now the 3rd major US retailer to sell out of next-gen stock. As we reported earlier in the week Best Buy has sold out of Xbox One’s and GameStop has sold out of PS4’s. If you live in the US and want either of the consoles I suggest getting a pre-order in very soon. For all of us over in merry old England there doesn’t appear to be any stock shortages as all major retailers are still taking pre-orders.
