Amiibo Have Passed 7 Million In Sales In The US
Nintendo has been having some big successes recently in regards to sales of their properties. The 3DS for example has been selling really well as of late. In fact, it’s been selling 30% better in the first eight months of this year vs. last year.
Then, for Splatoon, it passed the 600,000 copies sold mark in the US. Which helps boost its worldwide sales, which have already passed one million and may be to two million very, very, soon.
And then, there’s the Amiibo, which just launched another wave of figurines yesterday. As of the recent NPD totals that Nintendo revealed, there have been over 7 million Amiibo figures sold…in the Us alone! Take that into consideration, just the US, that means the rest of the world has not been put into those numbers, and you know that they’ve been selling there as well.
The Amiibo bonanza has gotten so bad that some retailers, like Amazon, have stopped doing online pre-orders weeks before the figures come out. Saving them for same-day releases like yesterday with the newest wave.
With even more Amiibo’s on the way, more coming in November, it’s not even a guess that these sales will continue to skyrocket. Especially once the figures from the past waves get restocked so fans can get all the figures they want.
