AR Games Acquires 25 Percent of Online Game Publisher Syncopate
PressRelease: AR Games today announced that it has acquired 25 percent of Syncopate, one of Russia’s largest online game publishers. Founded by famous Russian film producer and media entrepreneur, Alexander Rodnyansky, AR Games is expanding the scope of AR Films across new mediums. Syncopate, developer and operator of the GameNet platform, is one of the leading publishers Russian-speaking markets, with hit titles including Aika and Blood Rites.
AR Games is a division of AR Films, an international film production and distribution company operating in Russia, as well as 22 Eastern and Central European countries and the US. “For 30 years I have been working exclusively in production and distribution of filmed content, but today the line between movie experience and gaming is blurring,” said AR Films’ owner, Alexander Rodnyansky. “Film lovers and gamers expect not only to be entertained, but engaged. By joining Syncopate I intend to provide both financial resources and creative expertise, helping the company implement its expansion strategy and further grow its market share.”
Oleg Sambikin, co-founder and president of Syncopate, also commented: “Syncopate’s biggest advantage has always been its outstanding team. We are excited to have Alexander Rodnyansky, a legend in the film business, join us as a valuable member of Syncopate’s ‘all-stars.’ With AR Games’ participation we expect to take Syncopate to a new level of audience reach, while further strengthening our relationship with gamers.”
Syncopate will continue development of GameNet, the company’s publishing platform and social network for gamers, with the intention of bringing its innovative technology to the global market. Syncopate will also continue building its portfolio, emphasizing its already dominant position in cybersports and with the gaming community at large.
