Are We Getting New Entry in the Gears of War Franchise At E3?
It wouldn’t be a stretch to call the Gears of War franchise one of the more important franchise to hit the Xbox in the 360 era. After all, it came out of nowhere to why fans with it’s cover system, brutal up close and personal gameplay, a chainsaw gun (that everyone loved to abuse, don’t lie, you did it), and a story that actually made you feel something. Especially in Gears of War 3, you know the scene I speak of.
Also though, it had four games on the system during it’s run, something very few franchises can say. And yet, after Gears of War: Judgment, the franchise hasn’t been heard from since.
Now though, there may be something new on the horizon. The official Gears of War Twitter account posted the following message today, along with the picture at the top of the page:
“Three. More. Days. #GearsofWar #XboxE3”
This is referring to the upcoming Microsoft press conference at E3, where something Gears of War related will no doubt be revealed. The question is, what?
There’s two answers here. One, they could be doing a Xbox One remastering of all the Gears of War games, not unlike what they’ve done with Halo. Or, they could be rebooting the franchise, and are going to unveil it at the press conference.
At this point? It’s an honest 50-50 split as to what will happen. We only 3 more days to wait until we find out.
