Ben Affleck Admits There Is “Pressure” On Batman v Superman
When it comes to blockbuster movies, the need to get big revenue is almost as important as getting the movie made in the first place. For the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, you could argue it’s one of the anticipated movies in recent years, and because of that, the pressure on the film to succeed is incredible. Not the least of which is because this movie will kick off the DC Movie Universe.Even one of the stars of the show, Ben Affleck, notes how much much everyone is under to try and make sure Batman V Superman succeeds.
“I think there is a ton of pressure on it,” Affleck told Variety. “I mean I would be bulls—ting you to say there isn’t.” He added, “We are a very kind of instant gratification culture when it comes to analyzing the film business. And there is a lot of hyperbole involved. Nonetheless, there’s a lot of pressure on it. If it doesn’t do well, that will be extremely disappointing.”
Batman v Superman is the first of two DC Comics films coming out next year, with Suicide Squad following later that August. These two are polar opposites in many ways, but they will bear the initial weight in terms of showing the world that DC Comics is here with their unified film universe.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on March 25th.
