Berserk: New Details for Western Release
Koei Tecmo America officially announced today that the upcoming new Berserk video game, based on the iconic manga and anime, is going to get a North American/Western release. The game is currently being developed by Omega Force for a fall release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC via Steam. Berserk is still the working title for the game, which is being done in a similar style to the Dynasty Warriors games Koei Tecmo has released in the past.
The game will feature a “one versus thousands” style of action from the Warriors franchise set in the grim, brutal world of dark fantasy. Gamers will be able to take the role of Berserk protagonist Guts and use his sword, the Dragonslayer, and also the commander of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith. Berserk will also feature various battle mechanics such as Magic and Transformations. The story will focus on both Guts and Griffith.
Speaking on the news about the upcoming release, Koei Tecmo Games President and Berserk producer Hisashi Koinuma stated in official press release:
“We are finally able to unveil our collaboration between Berserk and the Warriors series. In this game, players can experience and immerse themselves into the world of Berserk as the main character Guts, wielding his powerful weapon Dragon Slayer mercilessly slashing enemies in half, and through the massive story beginning with the Golden Age arc. The game content will be enjoyable even to those who don’t normally play games, so we hope all fans of Berserk will give this game a go. Become a member of Guts and his group, and experience the exhilaration of the most lethal Warriors game within the intense world of Berserk.”
The final release date for the game will be revealed later on. The story is based on the amazing manga by Kentaro Miura. A new anime also recently launched and is streaming now on Crunchy Roll.
