Black Adam Script Has Come In, Film Could Begin Production In 2019
The DC Comics Extended Universe has a lot of projects in the oven so to speak, and a lot of them are in uncertain points of production. One of the longest known ones is the Black Adam solo film that is set to star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. His involvement in the film has been known for years, but setbacks and delays have caused the film to be in limbo in some ways. However, according to Johnson, that could be changing.
During an interview with Yahoo! he noted:
“The script came in, it’s great, we’re working on it. If things come together in the way we anticipate them coming together, then that feels like a 2019 movie in production.”
“Working on it” could simply mean that light tweaks are being made to the script, which is standard for films of this nature. What’s more, if it could begin production in 2019, that could mean that the film will release in 2020. Depending on the timing that could be a year after the release of Shazam!, the character Black Adam is often most associated with.
There’s still a lot of questions about what the film would be about. More than likely it would be the origin of Teth Adam and how he became one of Earth’s Mightiest Mortals before betraying the wizard known as Shazam and being sealed away. We’ll just have to see when more details for the Black Adam film come in.
