It was a good day for CW fans, as not only did the midseason premiere dates for all their shows get revealed, but also, the debut of the next CW/DC Comics TV show Black Lightning got a premiere date.

Supergirl will literally kick off the new year when she returns to TV on January 1st. Then on January 16th, the Flash will return, and be followed by the premiere of Black Lightning. Then, January 18th, Arrow will return.

Wondering where Legends of Tomorrow is? Well, it hasn’t gotten a time yet, however, given that it’s a shorter season than the other CW shows (minus Black Lightning) it’s possible they’re delaying its premiere so that they can end along the same time as the other shows.

Like Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning has a much shorter season, thus why it’s beginning at midseason. It’ll be interesting to see though how fans react to this series. It’s the first CW/DC Comics show to start an African-American hero. Also though, though the show is “in” the Arrowverse, they’ve noted that the first season won’t have any crossovers of any kind.

All in all, it looks like the year is going to start off strong for series.
