Black Panther’s “White Wolf” Scene Was Actually Much Longer Originally
Black Panther wowed fans and critics for a large variety of reasons. One of which was the dual set of post-credits sequences. The first was a powerful scene at the UN where T’Challa talked about coming together as “one tribe”, a message very much needed in the world today. The second though showed Bucky Barnes, formerly the Winter Soldier, in good health and out of his cryo pod that we saw him in during the end of Captain America: Civil War.
His interaction with Shuri (T’Challa’s sister) noted that his conditioning had been totally wiped from his brain, and he was grateful. He even got a new nickname via the Wakandan children in “White Wolf”, which he apparently will take on in Avengers Infinity War. However, during a panel at Wizard World Portland, actor Sebastian Stan noted that originally, the scene was a lot longer. But he thinks the theatrical version is better:
“It’s definitely better the way it is now, I think. But that scene was at least 8 more minutes long than what we saw, snd it was like a more inquisitive Bucky. He was kind of really going, ‘Why do they call it these?’ And [Shuri] was telling him a little about it, and they kind of walk in a direction, and then he walked over and started hanging out with elders and playing with the kids, but you don’t see that.”
We’ll get see Bucky and Black Panther in major roles when Avengers: Infinity War arrives on the 27th.
