Blessed Are The Children Will Be Born This Halloween
Wild Eye Releasing has announced another one of their Halloween releases: Blessed Are The Children, a slasher thriller staring Kaley Ball.
Wild Eye refers to Blessed Are The Children as a “Reagan-era slasher throwback that’s part Halloween, part Black Christmas, and all frights,” but there’s one clear difference. Most slashers that came out during Reagan’s term in office didn’t tend to deal with issues like, uh….
It’s very difficult to summarize a plot like this while remaining apolitical, so we’re just gonna post the synopsis below. Friday the 13th did many things, but it certainly never went here.
Traci Patterson (Kaley Ball), an adrift 20-something who’s still reeling from the death of her father and her breakup with an abusive fiancé (Jordan Boyd), discovers that she’s pregnant. With the help of her friends, Erin and Mandy (Arian Thigpen, Keni Bounds), she decides to terminate her pregnancy, but quickly after leaving the clinic, she begins seeing and hearing things – shapes in the corner of her eye, strange noises in the middle of the night, and ghoulish figures stalking her every move. Is it guilt or are Traci and her friends in grave danger?
We’ll tell you right now, the screenshots and trailer suggest it is just some crazy guy in a baby mask, not anything supernatural. But we can’t say for sure, nor can we tell you which side of the debate this movie leans toward. Approach with caution.
Blessed Are The Children also stars Keni Bounds, and Arian Thigpen, and was directed by Chris Moore. It will hit DVD and VOD on the same day, October 23.
