Capcom announces Ultra Street Fighter IV, brings new characters, stages and balance
During this weekend’s EVO Fighting Game Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, Capcom took the opportunity to reveal Ultra Street Fighter IV, the third evolution of 2008’s Street Fighter IV after Super SFIV and SFIV: Arcade Edition.
Coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2014, the game will introduce five new combatants to the SFIV roster: Final Fight‘s Poison, Hugo and Rolento, Street Fighter III‘s Elena, and a never-before-seen fighter whose identity remains a closely guarded secret. In addition, Capcom claims to have rebalanced all existing characters in response to direct fan feedback, at the same time providing a fresh batch of battle arenas, game modes and features that we’ll learn more about in the months to come.
On release, Ultra Street Fighter IV will be available in both physical and digital formats, priced at $39.99 RRP. Owners of Super SFIV and SFIV: Arcade Edition will be able to download the Ultra upgrade from the PlayStation Store, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Steam for $14.99. Hadoken!
