Cartoon Network Reveals Largest Slate Of Content Ever
Having a television network is very hard. You have to fight against numerous other competitors for the views of your audience, you need to maintain your image and bring in new and fresh content to keep people interested. Despite many pitfalls and bumps along the way, Cartoon Network is still going strong, and it’s aiming to get even stronger with a newly revealed roster of titles and games to keep its audience interested.
In a press release, Cartoon Network revealed not only the names of several TV shows that’ll be coming to the network, or recently premiered on it, but also revealed that over 30 new games would be coming to the apps and web services the network offers. Which, apparently now has over 200 million downloads, and it’s no doubt going to be growing even more.
“Cartoon Network continues to see growth in time spent on video and gaming platforms as kids are enjoying our content across a vast array of environments,” said Donna Speciale, president of Turner Ad Sales. “The best way for brands to reach and engage our fans is through a total audience approach that captures all of these relevant spaces.”
But the networks true delight is bringing in new talent to make these new shows and games. Many of them you can see in the picture above.
One of them is Owen Dennis, who found fame via his animated short called Infinity Train. Well now, it’s coming to Cartoon Network as a full on series. If you don’t know it, the show will star a young girl named Tulip who wakes up on a train that can go to infinite amounts of worlds. The mysteries surrounding her being on the train and how she’ll find her way home will compel viewers from start to finish.
Then, there’s Diego Molano, who is set to debut his supernatural comedy Victor and Valentino soon. This show focuses on two half-brothers who go to visit their grandmother for the summer in the small Latin American town of Monte Macabre. But in this town, the paranormal is all around them, and they have a funny way of interacting with the two.
A new series being made by some old faces will be coming later this month via Craig of the Creek. This is being written by Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, who are two of the writers behind Steven Universe. This show focuses on Craig and his friends who go on full-on imagination adventures at their neighborhood creek. The best part about this one is that you can via the first episode right now on VOD or the CN app.
The other major new shows coming include Apple and Onion as well as Summer Camp Island. All these shows will continue to branch out the very deep roster of shows on Cartoon Network. And will surely be making a lot of kids and parents laugh and smile.
“But wait!” you cry, “What about the other series that are already hits? Are they coming back too?” Yes, yes they are. For the network revealed that their hit shows Adventure Time, Ben 10, The Amazing World of Gumball, O.K. KO Let’s Be Heroes!, Steven Universe, The Powerpuff Girls reboot, Teen Titans Go!, newly premiered show Unikitty, and We Bare Bears will all be continuing through this year and next.
Oh, and for Teen Titans Go! fans, don’t forget, the movie “Teen Titans Go!: To The Movies” debuts in theaters on July 27th, with new episodes of the series to debut a little while after.
On their games and podcasts side, Cartoon Network has you covered there as well. First up, this summer will see the release of Bloons Adventure Time TD, a free-to-play title that’ll have you assisting Finn and Jake in order to stop the Bloon hordes that are trying to take over the land of Ooo!. The game is made by Ninja Kiwi, who also made the Bloons Tower Defense franchise, so you know it’s going to be quality.
If you’re wanting to get your hero on, then Ben 10 Alien Experience is something you’ll want to check out. The game has been updated with aliens from Season 02 of the reborn show, and the Augmented Reality aspects of it have been enhanced as well, meaning you’re going to have a lot more fun playing as some of the coolest and most powerful aliens in the galaxy. So if you haven’t already, try it out now!
Finally, for all you Steven Universe fans (and we know there’s a lot out there), The Steven Universe Podcast is coming back with an all-new 10 episode season that promises to dive even deeper into the beloved worlds of Steven Universe. Learn more about the worlds, the characters, and the people that help bring the show to live via this podcast. It’s very insightful.
