It may be hard to believe, but with the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 (full name pending), we’re reaching a major end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers 4 promises to bring big changes, not the least of which may be the leaving of several key characters and their actors/actresses. One of which may be Chris Hemsworth.

The Thor actor revealed to IGN that he has finished filming his scenes for Infinity War and Avengers 4, and because of that, his contract with Marvel is technically done:

“I’ve just, literally two days ago, finished Avengers 4 and that’s my contract — my preexisting contract is done now, so it’s kind of like, ‘wow, that’s it. Two or three films ago I was like, ‘okay, a couple more.’ I was enjoying it but I was like… I felt a little restricted. And after this last experience with Taika, and actually these last two Avengers, I feel like we’ve reinvented the character a number of times — even in these next two, he evolves again, and you don’t get that opportunity often in a franchise. So I definitely feel a renewed sense of excitement and enthusiasm, and more so than ever, I think.”

He does note that he’d be up for more films if Marvel asks him to do so, especially they go the groundbreaking route that Thor: Ragnarok did. Time will tell if Chris Hemsworth gets his wish.
